All workover rigs are double drum units. All rigs are rigged out to perform typical rod and tubing jobs. TEC's rigs can be rigged up on either a factory engineered sub-base or external wind guys at the customer's option. TEC's sub-bases are designed in accordance to API Recommended Practice 4G. TEC's sub-bases have a rated wind capacity of up to 70 mph with a full tubing board and rod basket and up to 110 mph when the tubing board and rod basket are empty.

Effective age of TEC rigs is 2.5 years. Effective age refers to the time since last complete inspection and rebuild of carrier, power train, draw works, and derrick. All work is done by National Oilwell. National Oilwell is the OEM for the majority of TEC's rigs. National Oilwell performs the following services:
  1. Derrick is stripped to bare metal and magnaflux tested. Ultrasonic thickness gauge is used to check thickness of metal in critical areas. All repairs are done by certified welders.
  2. Draw works is repaired/rebuilt.
  3. Engine and power train are repaired/rebuilt.
  4. All tools and work platforms are replaced/rebuilt.
  5. New paint applied to carrier and derrick.
Workover Packages

All workover packages are designed to give reliable, trouble-free service. All BOP's, TIW valves, and reverse circulation manifolds are tested to 5,000 lbs before they are delivered to the customer's location.

Depending on the type of workover, the customer has several pump options to consider. For workovers involving heavy drilling or milling, or for jobs requiring the use of a mud system, the Gardner Denver or National Oilwell is a high volume pump that excels in jobs such as those.

For workovers, the following pump packages are available.

All mud pumps are leak tested in TEC's yard before they are brought out to a job.

Mud tanks are available with mud jets and circulation pumps.

TEC keeps a full complement of rental equipment. BOP's are Hydril type H-1 hydraulic. These BOP's are tested to 5,000# on TEC's test stand before each job. All control valves and hoses are included in the BOP rental charge. TIW valves and reverse circulation manifolds are also available.
