It is easy to talk about "quality" in an abstract or vague way. The employees of TEC, however, are dedicated to providing real quality service to our customers. The first step in delivering quality service, however, is defining what quality is. Therefore, the following list shows how TEC defines quality between and for all segments of our company - the management (contractor), the rig crew, the Field Supervisor (Toolpusher), and the support staff (shop and yard).
Our standards below are dynamic - we are constantly searching for additional quality measurements. In addition to listing our goals, we measure our progress in attaining those goals. Every month we issue a "Rig Performance" report. This report shows (by rig) rig utilization, rig downtime, crewman unexcused absences, turnover, accidents, safety inspection results, and problem well reports. Ask to see this report for the rig you request.
By the way, after three years of measuring rig performance, one factor stands out as the single largest influence on both safety and quality - crew turnover. The facts show that it is essential that the same four crew members show up on the rig every day on time in order to provide the customer with the safest and highest quality job possible. Safety and quality programs are important, but turnover can make even the best programs totally ineffective.
